Computing Community Consortium Blog

The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.

RFI on Implementation Plan for a National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource- Deadline Updated to Oct 1st

August 19th, 2021 / in Announcements, CCC, NSF, pipeline, research horizons, Research News / by Helen Wright

White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP)In July, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the National Science Foundation released a Request For Information (RFI) to gather public input on the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) implementation plan. The deadline has been extended, to October 1st, to hopefully elicit more diverse responses.

“Given that we want to hear from as many folks as possible — we’d really like a broad and diverse set of perspectives among the responses — we felt it best to extend the RFI response date by a month,” Erwin Gianchandani, who co-chairs the task force as NSF’s representative, told FedScoop in an article. “We believe that timeline will maximize responses while still allowing us to digest the responses and use them to inform the task force’s discussions and deliberations.”

Please consider submitting a response if you have novel ideas, particularly addressing important social questions (fairness, bias, security, etc.) by October 1st. See more information here.
