The Associate Director for Data Science (ADDS) and the Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) initiative at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) would like to invite you and your communities to attend the Open Data Science Symposium on December 1, 2016. The goal of the symposium is to engage the public with data science at NIH now, and in the future.- A dialogue on open science with NIH Director, Dr. Francis Collins and former NIH director, Dr. Harold Varmus
- Demonstrations of the 6 prototypes for the Open Science Prize, a worldwide competition to leverage Open Data for biomedical discovery
- A keynote lecture from John Wilbanks, head commons officer at Sage Bionetworks
The meeting is open to the public and free to attend (although registration is required).
