The Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Research Initiation Initiative (CRII) program is for research and teaching faculty in the first two years of their appointments. In 2014-15, the first year of the program, there were 76 awards under this program.Two of the projects that were funded last year are highlighted below. The interaction between computer processors and software is governed by an Instruction Set Architecture (ISA).
