The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) recently sponsored a Blue Sky Ideas Conference Track at the 38th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE), May 14-22, 2016 in Austin, TX. The purpose of this conference was to bring together the world’s leading software engineering researchers and practitioners to share cutting-edge results and visionary ideas, attend inspirational talks, and engage in lively conversation. Big Data has been a major theme of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) over the years. In addition to having a Convergence of Data and Computing Task Force, the CCC held two events for Big Data that coalesced the research community and the usage community in 2008.
