The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is sponsoring a Blue Sky Ideas Conference Track at the Material Robotics (MaRo) – Bridging Materials Science and Robotics Workshop on July 15, 2017, which is part of the 2017 Robotics: Science and Systems Conference in Cambridge, MA. Description of the MaRo Workshop: The original vision of a ”robot” introduced by Karel Capek in 1920 was that of an autonomous computing machine molded in the image of humans. Interestingly, the play begins with a discussion of the materials that make up the robots and introduces the techniques used to spin and extrude such materials into synthetic body parts and squishy computers. Apparently, it was intuitive to […]
Computing Community Consortium Blog
The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.
