The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is excited to announce the new website feature, “CIFellows Spotlight”, which will highlight the work of the Computing Innovation Fellows (CIFellows) going forward. Announced in May 2020, the CIFellows program was created, with strong support from NSF, to provide recent PhD graduates in computing research with the opportunity to continue their work despite the hiring disruptions in academic institutions due to COVID-19. These articles will give the CIFellows the opportunity to share their work with the community and dive deeper into the details of their current project(s). Yi Ding began her CIFellowship in January 2021 after receiving her PhD from University of Chicago this past […]
Computing Community Consortium Blog
The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.

The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) has hosted dozens of research visioning workshops to imagine, discuss, and debate the future of computing and its role in addressing societal needs. The second CCC Computing Research Symposium brought these topics into a program designed to illuminate current and future trends in computing and the potential for computing to address national challenges. See the videos from the Symposium here. Poster presenters at the Symposium included early career faculty members, post-docs, and graduate students from many fields of computer science. There were a total of […]
New Program Solicitation for the CISE Research Initiation Initiative (CRII)
April 19th, 2017 / in Announcements / by Khari DouglasThe National Science Foundation (NSF) has released a new program solicitation for the Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Research Initiation Initiative (CRII). The CRII program aims to award grants that support independent research to new PhDs in their first academic position in order to support the growth of future scientists and researchers in computing. The grants are intended to support untenured faculty and researchers for their first three to five years after the completion of their PhD. From the solicitation: This solicitation provides the opportunity for early-career researchers to recruit and mentor their first graduate students (or undergraduate students, in the case of faculty at undergraduate and two-year […]
