This blog post contains contributions from an upcoming special issue of Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association In April 2018, the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) held a visioning workshop on Sociotechnical Interventions for Health Disparity Reduction. The workshop brought together leading researchers from computing, health informatics, behavioral medicine, and health disparities to develop an integrative research agenda that will advance sociotechnical interventions capable of reducing health disparities and improving the health outcomes of socio-economically disadvantaged populations. The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.
