Computing Community Consortium Blog

The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.

November 4th, 2026 / in CCC, resources, robotics / by Marla Mackoul

The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is excited to release a new brief drawn from the recent white paper Securing the Robotics Supply Chain: Technical Needs and Investment Opportunities for the Domestic Robotics Research Ecosystem. The brief, Key Recommendations for Securing the U.S. Robotics Supply Chain, outlines the sustained federal research and investment agenda needed to build a domestic robotics supply chain. Federal action on robotics imports is underway, including the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) July addition of advanced robotic devices to its Covered List and an October 28 presidential proclamation on robotics and industrial machinery imports. The U.S. robotics research base, however, depends heavily on these supply chains, and restricting […]
