This year’s workshop will be held in Atlanta, GA from May 30th– June 1st in collaboration with Morehouse College. In this workshop, departments will have the opportunity to learn more about BPC efforts from the National Science Foundation (NSF), how to create a Departmental BPC Plan, and how to best support faculty PIs submitting NSF proposals that require a BPC Plan. NSF Director Sethuraman Panchanathan and members of NSB meet to discuss their shared strategic vision five times a year. This week the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) Task Force released a roadmap to establish a national research infrastructure aimed to broaden access to resources for AI research and development. There are ever increasing opportunities to work with cutting-edge AI technologies, but many of the opportunities are limited to large companies, organizations and academic institutions with an abundance of resources. The National Science Foundation (NSF) recently released a joint Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) announcing the launch of the Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem of Services and Support (ACCESS) program. The program will provide services that ensure the continued access and availability of the cyberinfrastructure (CI) ecosystem for the science and engineering research and education communities. This has the potential to grant communities access to resources such as cloud-data infrastructure, testbeds and high performance computing systems, connect supporting researchers with similar research goals, and predict the CI ecosytem’s needs.
